CNC Milling & Swiss Turning
CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. With CNC machining, considerable improvements in consistency and quality have been achieved with no strain on the operator. CNC reduced the frequency of errors and provided CNC operators with time to perform additional tasks thereby increasing productivity and allowing them to pass on the savings to their customers. CNC mills can perform the functions of drilling and often turning.
CNC milling machines are traditionally programmed using a set of commands known as G-codes. The G-codes are the codes that position the tool and do the actual work. Most CNC milling machines are computer controlled vertical mills with the ability to move the spindle vertically along the Z-axis. This extra degree of freedom permits their use in diesinking, engraving applications, and surfaces.
