Health care is one industry that is always hiring and where job prospects continue to be high even though job prospects in many other industries are fairly low. If you want to work in health care and you have an interest in science and you're good at science you should consider getting a Radiology Degree. A Radiologist is a technician that takes patient X-Rays and also mixes and gives patients the dyes that doctors use for diagnostic purposes. Once a dye is given an X-Ray is taken to help the doctor determine the nature of the patient's condition. Some Radiologists become experts in using advanced medical equipment like CT scanners and MRI scanners. Radiologists are a key part of a hospital's staff and many hospitals don't have enough Radiologists on staff because they can't find enough trained and certified Radiologists. As recently as early 2003 there were 38 states that required Radiologists to be certified. To get a Radiology certificate you need to have a Radiology degree and pass a special exam. Even if the state that you want to work in doesn't require Radiologists to have a Radiology degree and to be certified nearly every hospital in the country would rather hire a Radiologist with a Radiology degree than hire a Radiologist without a Radiology degree so if you want to become a Radiologist you should definitely get a Radiology degree. Over the course of your career you can earn hundreds of thousands of dollar more if you have a Radiology degree than you would earn without a Radiology degree, especially if you want to go into a Radiology specialty like CT or MRI scanning.
Radiologists are in high demand so if you have any desire to work in health care you should think about getting a Radiology degree. There are online Radiology degree programs that you can use to get a Radiology degree. You might even be able to get a low level job in the Radiology department of a local hospital while you work on earning a Radiology degree if you tell the hospital administrators that you are in school and you are pursuing a Radiology degree. Radiologists that have a degree and are certified can receive huge sign on bonuses of thousands of dollars at some hospitals because there is such a great need for trained Radiologists that have a Radiology degree. If you are looking to change careers and you want to switch to a career that will always be in demand and will most likely never get outsourced you should consider going to school online to get a Radiology degree and working in Radiology. In a recent survey it was found that Radiologists that don't have a Radiology degree earned about $27,000 per year at the lowest end of the wage spectrum and Radiologists with a Radiology degree earned over $55,000 at the very upper end of the wage spectrum. Clearly having a Radiology degree has a big impact on how much money you can earn as a Radiologist.
