Las Vegas Nevada has rarely, if ever, been the choice of dream vacation getaways for individuals who enjoy the great outdoors. The many casinos and gigantic hotels there have invested so much money in advertising that as far as the media goes, the only thing you hear about are those particular institutions. Las Vegas is just generally considered to be an urban gambling vacation spot, and nothing more. http://juble.com/
However, just because you have not heard of something does not mean that it does not necessarily exist. Las Vegas actually does have another side of it. Although it is rarely publicized, there is a great outdoors side of this grand vacation spot also. It is a side of magnificent scenery, peace, and tranquility, unlike any you have ever experienced before. The up side of the lack of advertising in the nature aspect of Vegas is that it has not become an overrun tourist attraction.
The perfect example of this largely untapped and untouched aspect of Las Vegas is that of Loews Lake. This is a massive lake that has an incredible view of the nearby mountains. The best part is the fact that you can experience the fun of the city deep in this scenic lakeshore of the Nevada Desert. This is in the form of the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort. Far from the crowds of the city, you can still enjoy the casino action as the resort itself has an in-house casino. Not only does this magnificent lakefront resort offer gambling, but also the luxurious pleasures of a spa. To cap off all the other relaxation aspects, there is a massive 18-hole golf course at your beck and call.
As outdoor sports go, the lake is almost at your very doorstep. This is a particularly popular spot for those who enjoy the various water sports. It is not at all uncommon to see individuals or pairs of vacationers fishing from the lakeshore or from a small boat on the surface of the lake. You will also see the occasional boater, skier and swimmer enjoying some time out on Loews Lake.
The area around the lake also provides plenty of activities. You can go hiking through the desert if you would like. The views are a truly awesome sight to see, as from the top of some of these dunes you have impressive unobstructed views of the entire Nevada local scene. Though if you do intend to wander into the desert, it is very important that you take plenty of water and make sure that you can find your way out. Many unprepared careless people have been lost in these massive desert plains.
This vacation season; do not automatically assume that the Las Vegas area is all city and urban managed area. There is actually an incredibly large amount of countryside in this area that is untouched by the urban development that has defined Vegas in the last few decades. Come to Nevada and visit the Las Vegas countryside this year, and discover the other side of Vegas
