Imagine floating down this lovely river, allowing the slow moving current to do most of the work while you occasionally dip the oar into the lovely placid water. Just reading about it makes you want to curl up and take a nap. It is just that relaxing and peaceful! If you are here during the right time of year, you can be on the other side of the kayaking experience as this is the location of the Head of the Charles Regatta. This is a race with over five thousand experienced professional kayak racers competing for the title of the worlds' best! You will truly sit in awe as you see these athletes flying across the water at speeds that one would not think is possible without the help of a motor! As original outdoor sporting events go, this is one of the best to be seen.
Your outdoor trip to the city can go on to include such options as fishing, tanning, Skiing, or even taking local river cruises. It's almost like getting a city vacation and a beachfront vacation in one package.
