Getting the perfect barware for your house or bar is essential to having a well stocked and fun atmosphere. There are so many different types of bar accessories and sometimes it is really overwhelming trying to figure out which ones you need and which ones you do not. The barware that you need is really dependent upon the amount of space you have and how large your bar or bar area is.

Probably the most important piece of barware that you need regardless of your space is glasses. There are so many different types of glasses, but if you are working with a smaller space then you definitely do not need to have each and every bar glass that they make. If you are trying to fill your home with the basics of barware, then you really only need a few different types of glasses. One of the most fundamental types of glasses to have is wine glasses. Wine is something that just about everyone enjoys and regardless of the type of crowd you are entertaining, there is guaranteed to be someone who requests a glass of wine.

There are different glasses for red, white, blush and port wine, but you do not necessarily need one for each. If you are just looking to entertain at your home then you can definitely get away with purchasing some universal wine glasses. Universal wine glasses are a size and shape that is in between that of a red wine glass and a white wine glass. This way you only have to use one glass for both types of wine. Port wine is a very common sweet wine that is served during or as a dessert. Since it has such a sweet flavor, it is usually served in a smaller and skinnier glass than other types of wine; this is another type of wine glass that you may want to have on hand.

Another very common type of alcoholic drink is a martini. Martinis come in a very large variety of kinds, which makes it a very popular choice. Any martini that is served straight up goes in one type of glass and any that is on the rocks is typically served in a rocks glass. An up martini glass has a cone shape to it and has a long stem that is attached to a flat bottom. These are a great type of glass to have too because at some point everyone always wants a martini. Some other glasses to look into to stock yourself up with the right barware are champagne flutes, high ball glasses, rocks glasses, shot glasses, and snifters. These items combined with a bar stocked with liquor guarantee and very wonderful evening for everyone.
