Your strategy in playing Omaha should start before the flop. You should carefully study your cards to determine what outs you need to make a winning high or low hand. This is the time when you can manipulate the pot by raising the bet, which may also eliminate the number of opponents you have playing against you in the round. The fewer number of opponents that you have increases your chances of winning.
The flop is a critical part of playing Omaha poker. Once you see the three cards the dealer turns over in the flop, you can start to try to calculate the possibilities of winning. You can make another attempt at manipulating the pot at this point to obtain more chips when the odds are in your favour. The turn card, while it is an important part of the game of Omaha, is not a critical part of the game. It is here you can put your Math skills to the test as you calculate the pot odds. The main goal of Omaha is to have the winning hand in the end after the river card is played. You may not win, but if you keep your strategies in focus, you will win more hands than you lose.
