It has thrown-off the old stereotype that linked the game to elderly women and stuffy bingo halls and has now adopted a more glamorous image that attracts people of all ages. However, there are some techniques you can adopt that will boost your chances of winning through greater concentration and awareness of how the game is developing.
One of the first things that you should do when playing online bingo is to turn the “auto-daub” function on. This means that the game system will automatically mark off your numbers as and when they are called, so that you won’t miss a number, which might affect your chances of winning. This is a useful function for players who aren’t totally involved in the game and might be doing other things at the same time, such as watching television or listening to music. You should also look to buy the greatest number of cards available to you, provided the prize money warrants this. There are three things you need to weigh up: the cost of each card, the number of cards in play and the total prize fund. At some points it will be advantageous to buy more, and sometimes it will be better to stick to one or two cards – but in the end, it is up to the individual player how many they buy.
Once you’ve decided how many cards you’re going to buy, you can adopt one of two different approaches to the make-up of each card and what type of numbers to look for. One option is to buy cards that have a wide variety of different numbers on. The reasoning behind this method is that if certain numbers fail to come up, then you have only compromised the success of one of your cards, rather than many. By getting cards with a wide range of numbers on, you are not cutting down the risk of losing, but spreading it across your cards so you still have some live cards left in play.
The other route to take involves getting similar numbers on each card – and with online bingo you can pick and choose which numbers to have – with the intention of doubling or tripling up your chances every time you hit a number. People use this method because the game is all about luck, and they see that this luck should be maximised every time it goes their way. Use different clusters of similar numbers across the cards so you are still maximising the outcome of a lucky strike whilst also minimising the risk by maintaining some difference between the cards.
