The new idea in Orange County, California, is to stay at home and enjoy our weather, our surroundings, our places to visit and our home.
Other than the South of France, perhaps, California has one of the few resort-like atmospheres in the world. We should count our blessings daily!
Think out of the box this year ... try staying home instead of spending your money on an out-of-town vacation. Why not create a vacation-like atmosphere in the privacy of your own space? Something you will be able to enjoy for a long time -- a staycation.
With all the wonderful possibilities available, entertaining can now be simple, fun and even inexpensive. If cooking is not your thing, consider having your dinner or luncheon catered. With all the choices of excellent caterers at your fingertips, this is definitely a hot option. Feeling a bit low? Call an esthetician or masseuse to give you a special treat in the privacy of your own home. Check out the local concerts, plays and take a stroll through the nearest bookstore. Relearn your community!
Why would Californians need to vacation elsewhere every year? Perhaps we need to reevaluate, stay home, get reacquainted with our family, our friends, our co-workers. Slow down and allow your home to be the escape oasis that your really need.
We long to be with our children, friends and family members and while it would be nice to take everyone with you on vacation, it seems like it might be wiser (and chances are even more fun) just to stay in your own home, relaxing in your own "5 Star Retreat"! What a great idea!
Remember how exhausted you were when you returned from your last vacation? Sometimes it hardly seems worth the effort and expense.
Why not check out the service of a professional interior designer for some terrific creative ideas? What would it be like to walk into your bath in the morning to find a resort-style spa instead of the boring tile, tired towels and tiny shower? And what if your living room were full of eclectic furnishings that invite you to relax or entertain at a whim?
The sky's the limit. Use your imagination. What would you really like to do if you could? Think it through ... consider making your home your vacation site.
