With the demands of a full family life, few of us will ever be able to sneak away for the amount of time that a full-blown spa treatment entails. However, that doesn't dictate that you can't take a little break and indulge yourself in a mini-treatment - say something like a massage or a facial. With Mother's day approaching, think about how wonderful it would be to pamper her, or if you are the mother, yourself, with a trip to the spa.

A facial is so refreshing, so rejuvenating that it makes one feel on top of the world. You feel fresh, clean, and light. And, the massage makes your skin glow. In this fast-paced life of crazy working hours, you need time to slow down. And, the best place to relax is a room with soft lights and soothing music in a spa with the beautician pampering your skin!

If you have never been to a spa before, here are a few things to know before you go. Before your massage, enjoy the hot tubs and saunas they offer to start relaxing. If you are getting a facial, here's what to expect. Your face will be exfoliated and cleaned to make your skin softer.

But, once you go to a spa, it is best to take advantage of both facial and massage. Don't hesitate to remove your clothes for the massage; you don't know what you are missing because of this shyness. In any case, they provide you with enough sheets to cover your entire body. You must know that the people who service you are professionals, and are aware of your first-time jitters. Listen to the recommendations of the professionals and drink plenty of water before you go for a sauna otherwise you can become dehydrated during the sauna. It also helps in the cleansing process.

The experience of a spa is relaxing, refreshing and rejuvenating. You can always discuss your concerns with the professional beforehand. This will not only ease your mind, but relax you before the massage. The idea is to enjoy the whole experience. And, if you can put your hesitations aside, you will really feel on top of the world after the massage.

So what are you waiting for? Pick a day and get to it!
