Internet marketing and MLM (multi-level marketing) are not businesses for people who don’t want to work. Building a solid downline takes effort; there is no “magic pill” that will do it for you. But building a downline doesn’t have to rival building the Great Wall of China either. Using the step below, you can learn how to build a downline fast without a lot of wasted energy or money.


How to Build a Downline Using Email


Using email or rather using an email newsletter is a time-tested way to keep in contact with the people in your downline and keep them interested in the program.


(1) Use Email to Train


Use your newsletter to train your downline on how to be successful. Take them by the hand if necessary and show them step by step exactly what to do now, then what to do next and what to do after that. You should take the time to share your expertise on the program and explain in detail the ins and outs of it all.


(2) Use Email to Interview Your Upline


Okay, you are still learning yourself, well then talk to your upline and ask if you can “interview” them and use their answers to your questions for your newsletter. People who are truly successful don’t mind sharing their knowledge. So ask one or two of your program’s “heavy hitters” if they would be willing to let you talk to them about the business.


(3) Use Email to Capture Prospects


When people come to your website, they are always one click away from disappearing into cyberspace. Offer them a free special report, video or podcast on the program in exchange for their email address.


(4) Use Email to Announce Updates or Upcoming Events


Build your downline by keeping them informed. No one likes being out of the loops. Share news about upcoming events (presentations, conferences, etc.). Also remind your downline about any updates or coming changes to the program or software system it may use.


(5) Use Email to Test Responses


Use your newsletter as a kind of “test bed” for new ads, marketing materials, product offers, etc.  Look carefully as how your readers react or the feedback you receive. You can even use a poll or survey to solicit reader response. But a newsletter is a great way to test the waters.


(6) Use Email to Offer Special Products


In addition to offering your downline create content, you can also your newsletter to send them special discounts or products, they may not normally see. Sharing outside products and services with them is a great way to show that you understand the “big picture” and want them to truly be successful.
