Consistency is the key, when trying to obtain benefits from your home business. The disadvantage of a home business is the fact that you can be easily distracted, someone may call you, send you emails, or a new program. Having these distractions all around you, means wasting a lot of time; you could use this time to take care of your home business, so you need to come up with a daily plan to ensure a good time management.
The main thing is to close everything that distracts you and try to ignore it. The best idea is to do is to plan when you will be checking your email like a half hour in the morning, a half hour in the afternoon, and so on. This way you don't have to worry about your emails while working.
The first hour should not be dedicated to email checking, especially if that hour is already scheduled with an important activity. You don't need to keep yourself busy with emails when there is important work to be done. Nothing is more urgent than your business.
A good idea is to divide your day into one hour portions; try to make different activities in order to have everything in progress. Leaving things behind may have uncomfortable effects for your business.
Don't work all day without any breaks, it can make things run slowly, because, at one point, you will get very tired. For a nice break I recommend walking, having a coffee in your favorite place, or just spend time in a quiet area thinking, because you may come up with great ideas.
You need to end your work sometime because people tend to spend more and more time at their computers and it has no benefits for your health. Working too much will exhaust you, you will lose your concentration and this will cause more damage than good.
Statistics show that our productivity gets slowed after 7 or 8 hours so you don't need to work more, it's unhealthy and you might risk too much.
If you are happy with this schedule after a few weeks, keep it, as it might prove advantageous. However, if the planned schedule doesn't satisfy you, change it or make some adjustments until you find something good for you. Having a good schedule is the key, when trying to succeed in a home business.
