For example, If you live in the United Kingdom you will have a Bachelor of Arts in Law. A lawyer is sometimes known as a barrister in Britain. Meanwhile, if you are a student in the United States, you will become a Doctor of Law.

The Benefits Of a Law Degree With a law education, you will learn many valuable skills, a huge advantage in a wide range of careers, legal or otherwise. A degree course in law will also teach you about the many types of law enforced today. By the time you graduate, you will be able to understand and apply these laws to real-life situations.

Online law courses are not currently recognized by the industry. Make sure you attend a proper college or university, so that your law degree will be recognized.

Studying for the Bar Examination When you have successfully finished law school, there is one more step to take before you can begin to apply for a job. You need to pass a bar exam.

The United States operates a two-day written exam system on two occasions during the year. Different countries run slightly different systems, but all of them arrange the exams on specific days during the year. If you miss one exam, you will need to wait to take the next one. This could take place several months later.

You will use the skills you have learned in studying for your law degree when you decide to join a law firm. Much of your real knowledge will be gained doing the job.
