Brainstorming has the ability to help you uncover creative depths you never knew you had, that can help you find the answers to many of life's problems. Problems that you face not just in your private life, but at work to.
The thing about problems, they force us to make choices. And unfortunately, choices are with us all the time - we can't escape them, as much as some people would love that option. And again, if you don't make those tough decisions, then they will be made for you which is not a good option!
Sadly, these choices we make don't come with a guarantee! That is, a lot of the choices we make will be the wrong ones. But that's part of life and the worst thing you can do is become so scared of making a bad choice that you don't make any - because as sure as snow is cold someone will make that choice for you! And you know what, that is giving away control over your life and you don't want that.
Fortunately, there is a way around this, and that way is called brainstorming. I know I know, the phrase raises pictures of marketing types busy around a white-board but that is very far from the reality I assure you.
What brainstorming is is the easy procedure of marrying your logic to your creativity, to make them both much more powerful. I'm sure you've heard that most people use only a fraction of their available though potential? happily, brainstorming can maximizes that for you!
Often called other names like creative or lateral thinking, brainstorming in essence is a process that allows you to fully unleash the power of your creative mind, but, in a disciplined and focus manner. It is that discipline that makes your creative output truly valuable.
The process offers some very powerful benefits, such as;
* The ability to dig deep into your subconscious to mine ideas and other treasures you never knew you had
* Learning to think "outside of the box" so that you can train your mind to approach problems from different perspectives
* Train your brain to remain supple and loose - this is a prized ability as it really marks out the expert problem solver
Learning to brainstorm will be of great use to everyone, regardless of what you. Yes, lots of companies use it but it is also used by people looking to solve personal problems, families and even teachers with their students. It's all about solving problems creatively, no matter what those problems are.
Ultimately, brainstorming is all about new thinking - cultivating that valuable skill to come up with solutions at will. Do you think a lot of people could benefit from this skill? Once you learn how to do this properly, all sorts of opportunities open up to you as you begin to unleash the power of your creativity.
This is the usual situation - you are in your work place and you mention an idea to your workmate, He adds to it and all of a sudden you are looking at your problem in a whole new way. That's great, but imagine when you do it with a group, in the right atmosphere...
The whole group is beginning to buzz like a hive full of bees as ideas and solutions spill out onto the white-board. The whole group is energized as problems that once loomed large seem to become puny and manageable. This is the "Brainstorming Ride" and you will find out that it can be the most amazing experience ever!
So the next time you are waiting for inspiration, seeking the muse or just looking to get a unique angle on the report you're writing, why not put it to the brainstorming test? As you start digging out those gems in your subconscious, you'll be amazed at what you have in you!
