Here's a simple recipe for success that you can use to accomplish your objectives in work or in life. After doing this a few times, you won't even know you're using it. It'll just work. I started using this formula many years ago.
I did not come up with this idea on my own. In fact, it's not mine. I "stole" it from the great "Personal Power II" home audio program by Tony Robbins. In short, this is a four step formula for achieving results, regardless of what it is.
No matter what it is you want to accomplish, this plan can be used to achieve results faster and easier. If you're like some, you might find it hard to believe that this can work for you. That is exactly why the hardest part of this is that you must put away all doubt and ignore your beliefs and experiences.
You'll need to put all that behind you and take action regardless of doubt or fear. This is known as "getting out of your own way."
In simplicity lies great power, and this system is no exception. Imagine a complex invention like the automobile and all its moving parts and interdependent systems. Now, imagine that same complex invention without the many components that contain the simplest of inventions, the wheel. The automobile is nothing without the power of the wheel.
Many people think that you have to work hard to get ahead, and therefore something that seems too easy doesn't have much value. Don't confuse the simple power of this system for something that seems too easy. Passing an electric current through a wire is simple, but inventing the light bulb was no easy task.
Motivation initiates action. Motivation, however, is easily lost and needs to be renewed. Following the guidelines in this recipe will help you to keep on track and renew your motivation. Below is the formula for success that works to get you what you want.
1. Decide on your outcome - You must decide on what you want. You can't get where you want to go if you don't have a destination in mind. Determine what it is you really want and make up your mind to get it. It sounds obvious, but most people spend much of their time wishing and very little time deciding.
2. Act -- You must make a second decision and decide to make a change. You must decide to take immediate action on your first decision. Then, resolve to take those actions that work toward your goal. Do this regardless of fear, doubt, or any ongoing indications that you may not get what you want.
3. Monitor your results -- Some things you do will work well and others will not. Monitor your results, and ask yourself if it's working. If what you're doing isn't working, then make adjustments, and monitor some more. Eventually, you'll find the best methods and improve upon those.
4. Model someone successful -- One of the quickest ways to success is to find someone who has what you have, and then do what they did to get it. Modeling means copying what works. You can then improve upon it by monitoring your progress and adjusting.
I've employed this recipe for success many times, and it can work for anyone. Use it and then tell someone else about it so they can use it too.
