The New York Rangers team was established by Lester Patrick in 1926. Thus, it is considered as one of the original teams of NHL and one of the popular team in the eastern conference. In the mid of seventies Rangers strengthen their team by bringing Esposito and carol Vadnais from the Bruins, and Swedish players Anders Hedberg and ULF Nilsson from WHA and others such as Ratelle and Joe Zunassi also joined the team in 1975. But the Canadians took the cup from them.
During eighties, in spite of harsh games that Rangers had played they do no good. By the beginning of the nineties they brought Herb Brooks as a coach and brought also other games this what would gave its fruits and they succeeded to win the cup in 1993-94 season and the Conn Smythe trophy as well. The next season Rangers Tickets were sold out so soon in any of their games. In 1996, Rangers arrived to the Eastern Conference finals but they lost to the Philadelphia flyers.
In 2003-04, the team finally saw an upcoming phase. New players such as Petr Prucha, Dominic Moore and Blair Betts entered the team. In the 2005-06 seasons, the Rangers ended the season with the best record since the 1993-94 seasons. Henrik Lundqvist, Martin Starka, Prucha and Jagr pushed the team up to a great season.
