Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Chuck Liddell has a history that includes a number of martial arts disciplines. He has studied Koei Kan karate since he was a child, for example, and has a tattoo with the name of this discipline on his scalp. He also studies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has his purple belt in it. He also fights in kempo style, as well as kickboxing and wrestling. Liddell was a wrestler in college and a football player in high school.

In 1998, Chuck Liddell began his UFC career. Some of his wins include bouts with Kevin Randleman, Murilo Bustamante, and Renato Sobral.

Liddell has an ongoing adversarial relationship with Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz. The first Liddell/Couture bout was UFC 43, in which Couture was the victor. The first Ortiz/Liddell fight was not in the ring but outside, when they had words outside a club. Eventually Liddell emerged victorious against him in UFC 47.

Liddell and Couture met again on The Ultimate Fighter, a television show for Spike TV. In the first season, the two each took on a team to compete against one another. Liddell took that one, with his team emerging victorious.

Their next meeting was for the light heavyweight title at UFC 52. Liddell again won, this time with a knockout. They returned at UFC 57, where again Liddell defeated Couture. Then it was time to return to Tito Ortiz, for UFC 66 at the end of 2006. Liddell again won, but emerged from the fight injured.

Liddell has not since been matched with either of these men for an official fight, though all three appeared in the movie Cradle 2 the Grave as cage fighters. Time will tell what the future has in store for this trio.

Outside the fighting arena, Chuck Liddell is a family man, with two children named Trista and Cade. Hes a producer (of a documentary about Catalina Island), an actor (in films such as How High and television series such as Blade: The Series), and an author (his autobiography is called Iceman: My Fighting Life). He has even become a part owner of two pubs in Nebraska, called Dillingers and NZone. In addition, he is the first UFC fighter ever to grace the cover of ESPN: The Magazine. Quite a career for a man who has not even turned 40 yet. It will be interesting to see what sort of midlife crisis strikes a fighter who has already dabbled in so many different types of career.
